Our Passion is Education

That's right - Integrative Health Educators loves to teach!

I love that I work with such a creative group of people who put their heart and soul into their everyday practice - as well as having a passion to teach others.  Every day that I go to work, I am energized by the creative minds of the people I am surrounded by!

Let me introduce you to them!

Lynn Osborn, Nutritionist
-    Lynn teaches detox seminars and workshops.
Lynn comes to us with a rich background in nutrition.  She has over 25 years of practical experience and has traveled the United States looking for answers to health questions.  She is currently working on obtaining advanced degrees in nutrition and has been encouraged to share with others what she has learned in the last 25 years.

Lynn has several certificates concerning her energy work and functional Endocrinology.  Using a form of energy testing with both people and animals has been enriching.  The last several years she has been teaching seminars and classes all over the United States and has clients from around the world.  Lynn works with students in an internship program that she started over 7 years ago.  During this time she works with students to help them develop confidence and skill when working with clients and addressing their health needs.  Education is vital when talking with people about their health.  Lynn maintains that knowing the whys to your dysfunction body helps you to know what is needed to balance the body.

Lynn is recognized as a leader in her field regarding detoxification.  Through consultation with Lynn, she may recommend tools that are available at the clinic that aide in detoxing your body:  a far-infrared sauna, a detox foot-spa and a cold light laser.  Understanding why you are toxic and what steps should be taken to detoxify your individual body is critical in knowing how to detoxify effectively and safely. She has taught detox seminars in New York, Portland, Boise and other major cities in the United States.

Working with clients is very rewarding to Lynn.  Starting with the basics of nutrition and working with each client always being aware that each person is chemically a bio-individual is where she starts.  When you start to ask the questions the body has the answers, you just have to find out what is trying to tell you.  So many clients are frustrated when they know that something is wrong with their health and they hear from their health care provider that “we ran the test and can’t find anything wrong with you.”  It is exciting to help the client discover the underlying cause for a major unbalance in the body and to bring the body back to a healthy balance.

Wayne Johnson, LMP
- Wayne is an instructor of Massage Theory & Practice
Wayne has been a massage therapist since 2007 specializing in Deep Tissue techniques and structural release.  His good-natured demeanor brings a calming effect to the massage experience.  Wayne has a curiosity about the body and its inherent power to heal and teaches emotional freedom techniques to his clients so  that they can continue their journey to better health.  Wayne states he is a facilitator to the patient’s healing and feels that they alone can heal themselves.

Pulling from his 25-year auto mechanic experience, and the diagnostic tools developed to fix cars, Wayne utilizes those diagnostic skills to create a treatment plan specific to each clients’ needs.  Wayne relays treatment details in common language to the client in ways they can understand.  Deep pressure is one of Wayne’s specialities.

Michelle Herron, LMP, LAMP
- Michelle is the Lead Instructor at our Equine School of Massage
Michelle has been a massage therapist since May 2006 and also large animal massage since August 2006.  Michelle specializes in injury treatment, deep tissue massage with an emphasis on pain reduction as well as sports massage, and a fantastic relaxation massage.  Michelle is also experienced in other modalities such as hot stone massage, pregnancy massage, chair massage and elder care massage.

Michelle has a heart for special needs clients - and their caregivers - as well as the elderly.  She works with cancer patients, touch deprivation, hearing impaired, the blind and those clients recovering from trauma (such as the death of a loved one.)  Her caring, compassionate nature is what makes her a natural at this type of bodywork.

Combining her love of horses and massage, Michelle has been doing bodywork for some of the top 1d barrel horses here in the northwest.  Focusing on injury and muscle recovery, these horses have returned to their winning ways.  She also teaches owners how to exercise and stretch their horse to maximize their abilities and prevent recurring injury and muscle soreness.

Angela Hedgers - Chrohns Support Group Facilitator
Angela has Chrohn's disease and has kept symptoms under control for quite some time.  When her 14-year old daughter was diagnosed with Chrohn's and Colitis, Angela decided to become an expert on the disease and is leading support groups for both adults and teens to help them deal with the disease.

Group settings help both adults and teens to learn just how important it is to take control of their health.
She is passionate about teaching about the choices people make today will effect how they live in the future. Angela also hopes to help others suffering from this disease to get support to help them deal with Chrohn's and that they are not alone.  Empowering suffers through knowledge and support can make all the difference.

Jack Dwyer, DC - Instructor of Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology
Dr. Jack Dwyer has been helping people live pain free since  2007 in his clinic in Montesano. As an experienced chiropractor he is committed to promoting health and enjoying the Northwest life.  He has recently expanded his practice, opening a new office in Olympia.  In the classroom, Dr. Jack brings a clinical expertise to assist the massage student to understand the client and their body more thoroughly.

Shari Aldrich, LMP, CNP - Instructor of Massage and Nutrition, Owner/Founder Integrative Health Educators
Shari has been a massage therapist since May, 2006 and an instructor of massage since July, 2006.  She specializes in Pain Relief treatment, Injury Treatment, Sports Massage and relief of chronic pain syndromes.  Shari has completed courses in Neuromuscular Training with certification pending.  She uses the techniques learned to measure her client’s posture to help formalize a plan of treatment that immediately improves chronic pain syndromes.  Deep pressure is one of Shari’s specialities.  Additionally, she has begun courses in Somatic syndromes - including visceral problems, TMJD and cranial problems.  A study of cranial posture with treatment of the muscles of the eye brought her immediate relief of eye strain and she’s excited to bring this treatment into her practice!

Shari credits her teaching experience at the Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage as a driving force in her quest to continue learning.  Her students appreciate her teaching style and she has discovered that teaching massage helps to reinforce her own education.  Additionally, she has been blessed to travel around the country to places such as New York, Chicago and Miami to assist teaching a course titled Secrets of Deep Tissue with Robert Haase, founder of the Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage.  A love for teaching has driven Shari to create her own continuing education classes to teach other massage therapists

Shari says that she gets the most joy in her work when her clients health improves.  She loves to empower her client’s in their own care giving them full credit for their improving health.

A desire to continue to educate people led me to open Integrative Health Educators and bring the best teachers in the area to our clinic and school.  Our teachers are passionate about teaching and we are continually creating programs and developing curriculum that will help make Integrative Health Educators THE PLACE in Olympia for the public to look first for their educational needs!
